Chinese Jino People

The Jino people are a ethnic group. They form one of the officially recognized by the People's Republic of China. They live in Xishuangbanna in Yunnan province, China.

Language




The Jino language belongs to the Tibeto-Burmese branch of the Sino-Tibetan language family. According to SIL International, Jino has two dialects that are not mutually intelligible, Youle and Buyuan . There is no official written form. Most Jino also speak one of the Dai languages and/or Chinese.
